Extracorporeal Photopheresis

Extracorporeal photopheresis reminds of dialysis. After separation from full blood the white cells (leukocytes) get irradiated with UV light to get retransfused. The method is effective against organ rejection after lung transplantation, against graft-versus-host disease after bone marrow transplantation, and against extensive cutaneous lymphomas.
